Purpose of Position:

Rural Support Programme is a Non-political, Non-Religious, Non-Governmental, and Not Profit Organization, striving to bring improvement in the well-being of the rural communities of Balochistan, with a presence throughout the Country.  The overall mission of is to facilitate the establishment and improvement of sustainable livelihoods for the rural poor at the Country level. The Position:

The Man Social Organizer will directly report to the Coordinator HID at the Head Office level and Chief Social Organizer in programmatic matters and operationally he will report to the District Coordinator at the District level & Senior Social Organizer at the Field Unit level. Indirectly, he will report to the Senior Programme Officer HID at the Head Office level and shall be responsible for the efficient implementation of SM/HID-related field activities at the Field Unit level.

Significance:

The Man Social Organizer shall work in close cooperation with all field unit and district staff for the execution of field and district-level activities. The Man Social Organizer is expected to maintain close cooperation with the targeted local communities, and local political and religious leaders, to be able to mobilize these to take an active part in the planning of activities at the field unit level. The Man Social Organizer will have responsibilities to support Field staff, particularly women staff in program matters as well as CRPs in the targeted UCs.

Male Social Organizer must ensure:

S t r a t e g i c i n p u t :

·    Assist head office, district, and field unit teams in documenting the immediate outcomes of the HIDL-related interventions by playing an active role to develop and provide success stories, lessons learned, good practices, and way forward.

P r o g r a m m e M a n a g e m e n t :

·    Implementation of field unit-level specific strategic plans in the alignment with district and organization’s vision & mission.

T e a m M a n a g e m e n t :

    Set up processes and assign responsibilities to CIs and CRPs based at union councils accordingly.

·    Play an active role to provide on-the-job support to the CRPs to achieve the program’s objectives to assist Organization’s goals.

Primary Functions of the Job:

  1. Responsible for social mobilization activities supervision and monitoring of three-tier community institutions their record keeping at the FU and community level, writing daily dairies, Integration of social mobilization activities at the FU level, daily/weekly/monthly planning, and reporting of social mobilization activities at FU level.
  2. To initiate/conduct awareness campaigns and meetings in the targeted areas and keep appropriate records in soft and hard.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible to collect compile and share the primary and secondary data of the respective FU as far as identified UC/sectors in the district.
  2. Responsible and be a part of baseline surveys i.e. KAP/Rapid assessment/ PSC in the targeted UC of the program areas and keep records in folders (hard and soft both).
  3. Make contacts in appropriate manners with local communities to organize them in the most appropriate forms of organization (in the given situational context).
  4. Responsible for the overall Social Mobilization process at the FU level and focused UCs for the formulation of COs, VOs, and LSOs including the inclusion of women members as well as minorities in these CIs.
  5. Be a part of awareness-raising campaigns and community meetings that would be held on different sectors envisaged for the program components.
  6. Play a vital role to facilitate and provide support for the expected training of local leaders/community members and activists on different themes that are envisaged for the program components.
  7. Play a vital role in facilitation and providing support to the VOs and LSOs especially to the women leaders to develop their VDPs and UCDPs through participatory approaches and incorporate the women’s needs in these development plans.
  8. Responsible to manage BRSP interventions other than social mobilization activities under all projects in the district.
  9. As catalysts play an active role to develop linkages of CIs (COs/VOs/LSO) with line departments and NGO/INGOs working in the FU area and UCs to generate external support to communities.
  10. Keep all relevant records in soft and hard at FU and community level for all conducted activities/sessions/meetings.
  11. Write daily diaries in appropriate manners that would be based on the learning from the field, exchange ideas, and share experiences with management and field staff for improvements.
  12. Responsible to utilize at least 90% of his working days in the field and keeping all field visits recorded in soft and hard.
  13. Play an active role at the FU level through technical backstopping of WSO and CRPs in social mobilization coverage, gathering of communities at different spot checks from the management and donor, developing presentations for CIs, record keeping, and all grass root level activities that are envisaged in the program.
  14. Responsible to ensure standard savings at the COs level that are envisaged in the program as far as playing an active role to strengthen the resource mobilization concepts at VOs and LSOs level.
  15. Prepare and develop personal and CRPs monthly/weekly/daily work plans.
  16. Preparation of personal and CRPs weekly/monthly progress reports (narrative and statistical both).
  17. Responsible to be part of progress-sharing weekly and monthly review meetings.
  18. Seek guidance from the Senior Social Organizer in case of problems in the assigned work.
  19. Any other task assigned by the Chief Social Organizer/SPO HID/Coordinator HID.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

·    Programme Deliverables.

·    Timely and successful completion of project deliverables.

·    Timely and accurate Internal Reporting.

·    Capacity building of District Programme implementation teams.

Authority:

Support and facilitative role for CRPs in specific assigned tasks provided by management and administration.

Internal and External Interactions:

·    C o o r d i n a tion : Close coordination with the HIDL head office team, Districts Coordinators, and staff at the district level for uniformity of implementation strategy and approach.

·    HID T e a m : coordinate and ensure the quality of HID activities along with community participation.

    District and FU level staff including Program Officers F i n a n c e, A c c o u n t s, Engineers, Livelihood office, and CRPs: To ensure the provision of required documents after activity conduction.
